The lenses and legendary Canon colours are beyond debate, but the choice of camera is a bit more complicated for me. I would rather use 6D Mark II purely due to that flip out screen and touch to shoot option, but if the quality of the images is worse then the 5D Mark III then I'll probably get that instead.

In High-ISO scenarios, the newer 6D is going to be better. In other imaging metrics, there's been almost no improvement. In build and handling, the 1Ds III is still a top-grade, flagship-level instrument, whereas the 6D is an econo-box type buildan EOS ELAN-GRADE body, with a new sensor in it.
The 6D is a superb camera. We have one in the lab and I often use it out and about. It’s a great size, has brilliant IQ, superb focusing and I’m particularly fond of it with the Canon 40STM lens as it makes a really compact but excellently performing setup. In fact, most of the time I pick the 6D up over the 5Dmk3 for any personal shooting CFHClZ.
