Spreewald: Germany’s Venice. About 100 km south-east of Berlin in the State of Brandenburg, lies the beautiful Spreewald Biosphere Reserve. This low-lying area in which the river Spree meanders in hundreds of small waterways through meadows and unspoiled forests is one of Germany's most beautiful and greenest holiday destinations.

We booked the Hop On Hop Off as a way of getting around Berlin to see the sights. It was a functional tour with the circle taking about an hour or so. They visited most of the areas of interest in Berlin, which was good. The main issue for us was identifying the points of pickup and the times that the buses would take between each circuit.

On-site advice. For over 20 years, the Spreewald has been a UNESCO biosphere reserve with its rich plant and wildlife. Covering an area of 475 square kilometres with a 300-kilometre network of navigable waterways, the Spreewald is a wonderful place to explore. The best way for nature lovers to discover the region is via the many canals.
Great Spa, a cool (and hot) place to go. The Spreewald-Therme is our main reason to go in this region. The spa is great: the pools (with salty water) are nice and relaxing, the number and the diversity of the sauna are great. It is a place to go again and again. Unfortunately this is no longer a secret tip.
Example 1: On trip one (Munich to Prague) with Jiri Albrecht as driver, Jiri helped in every way possible at our two side trips. Great guy. Excellent English skills. He went above and beyond. Example 2: On trip three (Dresden to Berlin) with Mike Ivanek, Mike helped with one side trip, as well.
