Change the server type to Steam Group Server since thats where you end up anyway, and when the lobby leader starts the match in the lobby it will give him/her a list of the public Steam Group Servers to pick from. (same list as on the main menu) Do Not let the players in the lobby vote to start though, if the vote to start counts down then ityour friend can create lobby. or choose server from console: type. openserverbrowser. to console; then copy it ip adress and type. mm_dedicated_force_servers . and begin game from lobby; (not local and steam group, do best av.server) And you will play at chosen server.
By: SidNamo. You need Admin System for this to work. This adds a simple menu to Rayman1103's Admin System addon. It will work online if you're hosting a local server. Press "i" to open the admin menu. Always found annoying it supports "!kill bots" command to kill all bots fast but NOT "!kick bots" command.Motherbear Jun 27, 2015 @ 4:37pm. open the steam window , click view down click players, there you going to see the name of the all players who play with you there say add at friend click in there and they you go. #2. Go into your steam library. Right click on left 4 dead 2. Choose "Properties" Under "General" you will see LAUNCH OPTIONS. Copy & paste: "+clientport 27030" in the LAUNCH OPTIONS box (without the quotes) This should/could resolve the "loading forever" bug when trying to join your friends custom/modded sessions.
Left4Dead 2 is old-af, and was 100% not optimized for remote play. In fact, the PC version of Left4Dead 2 isn't even optimized for more than 1 person per client. In order to get split-screen to work for Left4Dead 2, you will have to jump through hoops. Google "L4D2 Remote Play" and find a guide. Start testing and experimenting and good luck.
either play on community servers with more player slots or create your own server. setting up a standard l4d2 server is easy, i won't google a generic l4d2 server tutorial for you, there are plenty around. The installation folder will be listed under the "Target" field. Step 2: Once you’ve opened the installation folder, locate the "left4dead2.exe" file. Right-click on this file and select "Create Shortcut." Step 3: Right-click on the newly created shortcut and select "Properties." In the "Target" field, you’ll see the same path as before 6Y7O.
