Has done quite some milage since and no leaks or problems with operation. One thing I did find which was going to by my next port of call was an online Fiat reference system which was a "pay per use" type setup. Using the free preview it appeared to have some dualogic related articles.

In a nutshell the Dualogic is an automatic gearbox with sequential manual transmission (or you can think of it as been a manual gearbox with auto transmission but I think the former is a more accurate description). In auto mode, its just like an auto gearbox. In manual mode, you push the gearstick up to go up a gear, and down to go down a gear

At $15,995 it’s still comfortably within the price range of our $20k challenge. All three trim levels have the same 1.4 litre four cylinder petrol engine producing 57kW. Our car came with FIAT’s Dualogic robotised manual gearbox, but a traditional manual is also available. Spec levels are pretty good. 04 1.2 panda 114k miles. You need to check the exhaust pipes for any holes, and they don’t have to be large holes for this problem to occur. Locate the holes and either seal with glue if
Re: First to second gear no it should never "smooth out" (well you should hope it doesnt, if it does its due to wear) its a case of getting used to doing a smooth change. i had the same problem when i first drove a semi-auto, and it took a bit of getting used to. it put me off buying one. i've spoke to many people with the same problem, and the general concensus is you should not accelerate
Fiat has access to this technology, but are simply too stingy to implement it. (don't get me started about the cost the dualogic gearbox isn't exactly a cheap option.) In 90,000 kms, my gearbox has broken twice. (once under warranty, once myself which I paid 540 euros at a Bosch dealer to fix including replacing the clutch.
